I Ain't Easy 04:30
you said you'd see me but I ain’t easy a bit wild and uncouth earnest pledges, rough on the edges how I misspent my youth you’re a light through the fog of this night we share a pain, lack of refrain and some whiskey and wine all the notes, float by like boats in the bay of your mind you’re a light through the fog of this night and those times, you treat me wrong I know that they’ll be gone when I hold you ever tight in my arms and those times, you treat me wrong I know that they’ll be gone when you hold me ever tight in your arms neglected child, raised in the wild found some comfort above the years you’d suffer, made you tougher now you know how to love you’re a light through the fog of this night there’s rain a-fallin’, we found our callin‘ like a great oak we grow good things happen, overlappin’ all our troubles and woe you’re a light through the fog of this night and those times, you treat me wrong I know that they’ll be gone when I hold you ever tight in my arms and those times, you treat me wrong I know that they’ll be gone when you hold me ever tight in your arms

No I don't know, what you been told, but I don’t need to be saved No, I don’t know, what you been told, but I don’t need to be saved I found my way, so you can stay away, cuz I don’t need to be saved and if you can’t be satisfied with my world and what’s inside you'll be livin’ in the loneliest part of town and if you can’t be satisfied with my world and what’s inside you'll be drinkin’ in the saddest part of town and I walk these streets with my head held high, cuz I don't need to be saved and I can look you straight right in the eyes, cuz I don't need to be saved I found my way, so you can stay away, cuz I don’t need to be saved and if you can’t be satisfied, with my world and what’s inside you’ll be livin’ in the loneliest part of town and if you can’t be satisfied, with my world and what’s inside you'll be drinkin’ in the saddest part of town

As I was walking down the street Down the street, down the street The sweetest gal I chanced to meet And we danced by the light of the moon Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight Come out tonight, come out tonight Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight And we'll dance by the light of the moon Danced all night with a bottle in my hand Bottle in my hand, bottle in my hand Danced all night with a bottle in my hand And howled at the bourbon moon Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight Come out tonight, come out tonight Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight And we'll dance by the light of the moon I danced with a gal with a hole in her stocking And her knees was a-knockin' and the band was a-rockin I danced with a gal with a hole in her stocking And we danced by the light of the moon Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight Come out tonight, come out tonight Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight And we'll dance by the light of the moon I knew right then I wanted her as my wife For the rest of my life, the rest of my life I knew right then I wanted her as my wife And we danced by the light of the moon Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight Come out tonight, come out tonight Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight And we'll dance by the light of the moon

Time is now, oh the time is now What will you do? Will you wait it out? Time is now, oh the time is now What will you do? Will you wait it out? There are demons sleeping in our bed, and monsters bashing babies heads You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness The cost of living is making gains, and we're just dancing in our chains You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells Eyes of fire and his horse is red, he’s galloping over the trails of dead You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness Circles around you and me, that crow is perched up in the tree You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells O ring those bells, O ring those bells You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness You’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness, you’re a witness Time is now, oh the time is now What will you do? Will you wait it out

in the beginning, created what I know your world so deeply and you let it go blindly worship, the gospel that you wrote in the night sky, a tiny glimmer of hope at 5th and Gomorrah, I was worth my salt scared to look back, was it all my fault there are no pictures, hanging on the wall Aces high in Chelsea, I do recall and now I’m weighing, the mistakes I made regretting nothing, as your image fades ugly demons, in the hardwood hollows beside the black creek, on the path you follow I was your angel, like Satan I fell All Mighty in heaven, you cast me into hell there are no pictures, hanging on the wall bound to a cabin, I do recall and now I’m weighing, the mistakes I made regretting nothing, as your image fades

about

This first full band album mixes country, blues, rock, folk, and gospel to create a familiar yet fresh blend of roots inspired music.

It was originally set to be released in April of 2020 but due to the pandemic was delayed and eventually released in September of 2020. It was mostly recorded with John Dinsmore at Lincoln County Social Club but some overdub tracks had to be recorded in quarantine at our individual home studios. During the long post-release isolation period a couple parts were re-recorded at The Chauncey and the album was subsequently remixed by Ralphie Boy.
